EMDR-Informed Group Therapy
Feel less alone in the present and less weight from the past.
Wednesdays | 5:30-7:00 PM (MST)
You’ve been meaning to work through this for a while, but something always seems to be in the way.
YOU MIGHT BE SOMEONE WHO…
Already has coping skills or a therapist, but feels like you’ve hit a wall you need different equipment to scale.
Wants to work through a difficult memory you can’t shake, but doesn’t want to share the intimate details with strangers.
Has heard of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), but wants a more affordable and accessible way to try it.
Doesn’t want to include insurance in their trauma work, but still wants to try EMDR in an affordable way.
Has been meaning to work through a particularly emotionally charged memory, but can’t figure out how to fit it into their schedule or budget.
You’re ready to move forward, but you feel like you’ll never be able to escape from the memory of what happened to you.
What if you didn’t need to do it alone?
WHAT IS EMDR-INFORMED GROUP THERAPY?
Private work that’s grounded in community.
EMDR-informed group therapy is trauma processing done privately, but in a virtual group setting. (Think study hall, not book club.) You work through an emotionally charged memory while following my guidance through bilateral stimulation. All the work is done independently and privately without any requirement to share with the group. However, if you do wish to share, the community to do so is there for you.
EMDR-Informed Groups are…
-
My group sessions are a fraction of what individual EMDR costs in Arizona, California, and Florida. Because the format is virtual and the time slot falls after work hours, you don't need to rearrange your schedule or build in a commute. I don’t require a long-term commitment either. Each session is standalone, so there’s no prescribed series or minimum session requirements.
A free phone consultation is the only step to get started. If it’s the right fit, you can begin attending sessions right away.
-
This isn't a peer support group or a coping-skills class. It's structured, clinical trauma processing guided by someone who has built their entire practice around this work. This group is an extension of the same clinical work I do in individual and intensive sessions, adapted for a format that makes it more accessible while maintaining quality.
-
You will never be asked to share your memory, your history, or your details with the group. During the session, you work on your own material, at your own pace, while I guide you through it. If you need support during a group session, you can message me through the chat so your experience stays between us.
Because this is a cash-pay service, I don’t bill insurance, which means you don’t need a formal diagnosis and your sessions will not show up on a formal record.
Offered Wednesdays 5:30-7:00 PM (MST)
Cost: $100 per session
Group size: 4-12 people
No minimum session requirement
How EMDR-informed group therapy works…
-
This call takes 30 minutes or less and is how we figure out if group is the right fit for you. I'll ask about what you want to work on, make sure you have a specific memory in mind, and confirm that the format will serve you well. If it’s a fit, you can get started right away. Not everyone is the right fit for group, and that's okay. If a different format would serve you better, I'll connect you with the right resource.
-
We open the group with a grounding strategy you can lean on throughout the session. Once we’re all grounded, I’ll prompt you to think of the worst part of your specific memory, but not to share it.
From there, I’ll guide the group to begin bilateral stimulation, either by self-tapping or following the light bar on your screen. After each round, I'll pause us so you can sit with whatever came up. Some people like to jot down what they noticed or sketch it, and some prefer to just let it sit.
We move through several rounds like this, and each time I'll ask you to hold up your fingers to show where you are on a scale of 0 to 10. As the number comes down, you'll feel the memory start to loosen its hold.
There will be a moment at the end where I will invite you to share a realization you came to during group. This is completely optional.
-
Each session is standalone, which means there's no series to complete, minimum session requirement, or pressure to commit to a weekly schedule. I can’t guarantee full resolution in a single session, but I encourage you to take what you need.
With EMDR-informed group therapy, you can…
Live your life without getting swept away in a memory that won’t let go.
Finally give your body the message that what happened is over and you’re safe now.
Stop looping through the would've, could've, should've of an event that already happened.
Learn how to calm the emotions that bubble up when you’re reminded of what happened.
Care for your own needs the same way you care for everyone else.
Feel less alone in what you’re going through because you can see you’re not the only one.

FAQS
Frequently asked questions about EMDR Intensives.
-
No. You work on your own material privately the entire session. You'll never be asked to say your memory out loud, describe your history, or share personal details with the group. If you need support during a session, you can directly message me. Your results don't depend on disclosure.
-
The group format works best for adults who are already functioning well but have a specific memory that still feels unresolved. We can discuss this during our free consultation call to help you determine if this is the right step for you.
This format may not be the right fit if you:
Have suicidal thoughts or ideation
Have an active substance abuse issue
Aren’t sure which specific memory to target
Have difficulty moving from one emotional state to another
Have spotty internet connection or don’t have a camera
Do not have access to a safe, quiet, or private space for the duration of the session
Are still figuring out coping skills that work for you
Prefer to vent or verbally process your experience
Plan to multitask during session
If we determine that group is not the right fit for you, I can provide alternate resources.

I'm an EMDR-certified therapist and a board-certified social worker licensed in Arizona, California, and Florida. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California and have advanced training in telehealth delivery, severe dissociation, narcissistic abuse, and suicide intervention. I'm a member of EMDRIA (EMDR International Association) and was among the first generation of EMDR therapists trained to adapt this work to a virtual format during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I've been providing EMDR therapy online since 2020 and have built my entire practice around trauma processing. This group is an extension of that work.
-
Each group session is $100. Individual EMDR sessions typically run $250 to $325 in Arizona, California, and Florida. I’m offering this group format to help make EMDR-informed work more accessible to everyone who could benefit from it.
-
The biggest benefit is access because I’m able to offer the work at a more affordable price and in a consistent, after-work timeslot. Aside from the logistics, doing this alongside other people is a reminder that you’re not alone in what you’re going through. Trauma can feel very lonely sometimes, but it doesn’t need to be that way.
-
There is no minimum. Each 90-minute session is standalone and complete on its own. Full resolution of a memory can't be guaranteed in a single session, but you will make progress each time you attend.
-
Absolutely. EMDR-informed group therapy works well alongside the work you're already doing with your primary therapist. It gives you a focused space to process specific memories so you and your therapist can go deeper in your sessions together. I would ask that you sign a Release of Information so your current therapist and I can coordinate to best serve you.
-
This will be most beneficial for adults who have a specific memory that still feels emotionally charged, even if the rest of their life is going well, as well as people who have been wanting to try EMDR but have put it off because of cost or scheduling.
-
Trauma is any experience that negatively impacts you. It doesn't have to make headlines or be the worst thing anyone has ever been through. If a memory still affects how you feel or function day to day, that is enough. You will never need to justify your experience as "bad enough" to be here.
-
Prior EMDR experience is not required. I guide every phase of the session, and we start each group with a grounding exercise so you have a tool in place before we begin processing. The free phone consultation is a good time to ask any questions about what to expect.
-
Yes. If you've done EMDR in individual sessions and have a new memory you want to work on, or an old one that still has some charge left, group is a focused and affordable way to keep doing that work. You already know the process, so you may find you settle in quickly.
-
This is a cash-pay service and is not billed through insurance, which means there is no need for a formal diagnosis on your record. At $100 per session, the cost is competitive with most insurance copays and is often less than what people with high deductibles pay out of pocket.
